The Boondocks - Site Directory

Boonton (Nickname: The Boonies) is an active and open Minecraft Community. It is a suburb of Spawn City bordering with it, and is bordered with Empyrean, Stickyport, and Smalltown USA Communities. Boonton is also a member of the Serene Empyre Alliance alogside Empyrean and Fort Serenity. It is centered on the theme of Suburban and Rural Life, featuring farms, homes, and naturally generated/man-made parks. It's secondary theme focuses on the odd mysterious Suburban town seen in TV shows like Twin Peaks, Eureka, and Roswell. It is home to Hillside Transit, a commuter rail network that serves Boonton to Spawn City's and Empyrean's Hub Portals. Boonton also features one of the most comprehensive named road network on the server.

Rules[]

These are the Rules of the Boonton Community. Please obey them at all times. The rules are a little strict due to the age of many builds dating back to November 2011 that were incorporated, and grandfathered, into the Community in November 2012. There is plenty of space in Boonton to build and we are an inclusive Community, but we will ask you to leave if break any of our rules. We want you to be creative without fear and want you to leave a piece of your legacy in Boonton to be enjoyed by everyone. Our borders with all neighboring communities and proximity with Spawn City can cause confusion especially if you are looking to be a hermit, so Please contact ImpossibleManX if you have any questions regarding the rules or locations.

1 - Obey the rules of the Mods

2 - Obey the rules of the owners of grandfathered builds in Ward A: Sunrise Heights, Ward B: Riverfront and Ward C: The Boondocks. They were here first before Community incorporation and they do not like people mining and building in their private property. Contact ImpossibleManX if you have any questions.

3 - All NEW builds post-2012 Community incorporation must be 100% complete. Incomplete builds will be torn down based on your status on the AWESOME Server.

4 - NO BUILDS ALLOWED in Ward A: Sunrise Heights and Ward C: The Boondocks. Those areas are all Private Properties and Private Mines dating back to November 2011 before the incorporation of Boonton Community and are all Grandfathered in with Mods Rules.

5 - BUILDS ARE ALLOWED in Ward B: Riverfront, Ward D: Emerald Forest, Ward E: Hillside, and Ward F: Ender Hills. Please Contact ImpossibleManX if you are unsure where to build at.

6 - Post AND Sign your name on all Builds and Boundaries of your Area

7 - Obey all signs posted

8 - Fix Creeper Holes and Creeper Damage!

9 - Be careful not to mine into other peoples' private mines.

10 - Builds must be Buildings of any form, be original with your builds, private farms are allowed of course.

11 - Pixel Art is welcomed, but due to space please obey the following rules:

  • Rule 11-A: Do not place Pixel Art at a random location, All Pixel Art must be placed either in your personal property (Example: Your Backyard) or on top of your builds.
  • Rule 11-B: Pixel Art in private homes can be anything you wish, BUT Pixel Art on builds for Public Display must be original, no License Properties or VGA.
  • Rule 11-C: Pixel Art CANNOT be as tall as a skyscraper. We do not want the Art to overshadow all other builds.

12 - No Eyesore Builds like random pillars and giant reproductive organs. We want Boonton to look as clean and family friendly as possible. Grandfathered builds are exempt.

13 - No More Parks of any type, Pyramids, Forts, Spires and Lighthouses. Those are already built and Boonton needs different types of structures. Be Original.

14 - Mining: Due to many claimed/private mines underneath private lands throughout Boonton, Mining in the Community has many limitations. Please obey all of the following Mining Rules.

  • Rule 14-A Public Mining is ONLY ALLOWED in Ward D: Emerald Forest. Since the Emerald Forest has no Grandfathered Land, it now serves officially as Boonton's Community Mining Area.
  • Rule 14-B Claiming any mining area as private/claimed underneath the Emerald Forest is prohibited.
  • Rule 14-C Mining in Ward A: Sunrise Heights and Ward C: The Boondocks is strictly prohibited.
  • Rule 14-D Mining in Ward B: Riverfront, Ward E: Hillisde and Ward F: Ender Hills will be on a case by case basis.

15 - Rules are subject to adapt and change.

Description[]

Boonton Community Border

Boonton - Community Border

Boonton is the name of an area near spawn. One of the first settled locations on the server, it was originally called "The Swamp." After The Swamp expanded, roads were built and the area was cleaned up some, at which point some residents felt a new name was in order and began calling it the Boondocks. When The Boondocks became an official community, the residents decided to rename it to "Boonton." It is nestled between Spawn City, Stickyport, Smalltown USA, and Empyrean only a short walk away as well.

ImpossibleManX currently is the Groundskeeper of Boonton. If a person is looking for a location to build their home, he can point them to where there is open land. While not a "leader" in the "boss" sense, ImpossibleManX is the person to ask if a player has any questions regarding the area.

History[]

In November 2011, on the first day the new AWESOME server opened, the Members of Team Puss; Dragoonzero, Snafu'd and Roguecrx, claimed land across the desert, mountain and swamp next to Spawn City. At that time, Minecrafters branched out to these areas unaware of their presence, some establishing Team Puss' mountain as an area called Cloudtop with signage telling people not to build there.

During these opening weeks of The Boondocks itself was just called... The Swamp. It lies right next door to Spawn City and rested in the middle of the mountains, forest hills, and a desert. The deep Swamp was unforgiving to the early settlers consisting of Teron368, Relkin, ImpossibleManX, and a few others. Most of the builds at that time were private farms, but eventually a sky island and a fort were completed. By late December/early January, Communities surrounding The Swamp grew and Stickyport created the first road from Spawn City to their community through The Swamp, ImpossibleManX built the first roads Memorial Boulevard and River Road to help get around. This resulted in new settlers like Acevil and Tgorman arriving and creating Builds along these two roads. Team Puss then built Rogue's Bar and Grill on the intersection of River Road and Memorial Boulevard.

With most builds completed, the first phase of the grand road network running throughout the area began, built by ImpossibleManX. By this time, The Swamp was renamed The Boondocks to help travelers know where they are at without getting lost. However, only a few people knew about the name. By February, The Boondocks became a ghost town with only ImpossibleManX building roads where ever possible.

From February on, ImpossibleManX started exploring further out of the swamp area ending up in rolling hills and a forest. There I found a new road built. That was when the second phase of road expansion began and The Boondocks began to take shape. It was during this time that many builds on that expansion have basically been completed and or abandoned. Along with the naturally generated areas and small island nearby, ImpossibleManX decided to establish the builds as Historic Sites and the naturally generated areas as Tourist Sites with sole purpose of protecting and preserving these areas.

Once the second phase was completed, it turned out that The Boondocks' borders were an amorphous blob always fluctuating and ever changing. It was hard to tell where it began and where it ended. Doctor Tardis began the first railroad project from Spawn City into The Boondocks but the borders at that time was established that Cloudtop was not part of The Boondocks, but the people who signed the area as such relinquished control of Cloudtop removing all signage. However the are still remained unincorporated thought remained named Cloudtop, and the base of the mountain remained the boundary of The Boondocks.

At the same time a new ambitious project came to light, Hillside Transit. Starting in July, with the aide of KRSD and ramrodwilly, The Boondocks underwent a third road expansion with the boundaries now fixed in place. Upon the completion of Hillside Transit in August 24, 2012, The Boondocks became a complete and stable area with roads and rivers serving as both natural and artificial borders for The Boondocks. The Boondocks now borders with The Empyrean, Stickyport, Cloudtop, Smalltown USA and Spawn City.

During the weekend of November 24, 2012, a plan was laid out to upgrade The Boondocks status to an Official Community. Those who built in The Boondocks and signed their names on their builds were contacted about the plans. After consulting the current active VGA members, those who responded agreed to the Community status and on November 27, 2012 11:00 PM EST, The Boondocks became a full fledged Community and officially renamed to Boonton for a more town like name.

With this change of status, came the return of Team Puss' own Roguecrx. Her return resulted in the revealed truth of her and Team Puss' ownership of the area within Cloudtop, the desert, and areas inside The Boondocks, after misinformation given from the people who "claimed" they controlled Cloudtop. With this new found fact, Team Puss's areas in the mountains (Formerly Cloudtop) and portions of the desert that are not part of Spawn City, have been incorporated into Boonton, effectively expanding its borders.

On March 6, 2013, Boonton received its official Community Hub Portal. With contributions from ImpossibleManX and Tgorman83, activation was granted by Moderator aqws3 at 1:00 AM EST, and became the first Community of Junction B's 3rd Floor. The Portal rests in Junction B 3rd Floor in Hub Portal and sends travelers to Hillside Park Transportation Center, on the 3rd Floor. With the activation of the Community Portal, Boonton now joins many Communities with an increase in visitors, and ease of travel to the outer Communities beyond the reach of Hillside Transit and Intercommunity Railway.

Wards[]

Due to the increase in block size of Boonton's boundaries post-November 2012 Community Incorporation, Boonton has officially separated itself into 6 districts, or Wards. It's purpose is to aide Boonton members and visitors sense of direction and location while traveling in the Community. Due to Boonton's History and goals, each Ward has its own set of rules that must be abide by when building. The Ward's Borders are signed along the intersections of many roads.

Ward A: Sunrise Heights[]

This Ward is the oldest of all the districts featuring claimed land dating back to day one of the new servers opening. It consists of the large mountain and the desert that borders with Spawn City in the north. It borders east with Empyrean and provides majestic mountaintop views of all surrounding Communities. A river cuts through the mountain and provides a serene lakefront. It is home to places like Team Puss Haus, Hubbeking's Obsidian Tower and Luckysimon's Castle/Kyle Falls. NO BUILDS ALLOWED in Sunrise Heights, it is all claimed land, and Mod Rules still apply here. Major Roads: Sunrise Skyway and Mountain View Lane. No Rail Service.

Ward B: Riverfront[]

The second oldest Ward where three early settlers, all unsigned, made their builds, all grandfathered in and subject to Mod Rules. Fort Impossible Nether Fortress[]

This was a Nether Fortress found by ImpossibleManX pre-1.5.2 Update (due to re-mapping for Quartz) with the intent of being open for to the public. Originally, access to the Nether Fortress was through the Nether Portal inside Fort Impossible, but now a new safe entrance was available for the public inside Hillside Park Transportation Center leaving travelers in the center of the fortress.

Fort Impossible Nether Fortress was split into two sections connected by a Nether Brick Bridge and cobblestone stairs, the Northern Area and the Southern. Each of these areas offer all the amenities of a Nether Fortress. The Southern Area had more Nether Wart patches than the Northern, and the Northern Area had more Spawners than the Southern. With this public Nether Fortress comes rules for fairness and order. Failure to follow will result in expulsion from the Nether Fortress.

With the 1.5.2 update came a new map due to the new Quartz, entry into nether at 1:8, and other features. This resulted in end of the Ft. Impossible Nether as it did not reset with the new map. Nether Brick used in some builds in Boonton, and the photos provided in this section is what remains of Ft. Impossible Nether Fortress. The following rules will not be deleted for historical purposes.

As of the 1.5.2 update, a new area was built by ImpossibleManx, curtesy of Avotas and his bridge design, called the Boonton Nether Portal Complex prvoding safe access to the Nether from Hillside Park Transportation Center, Willowbrook Terminal, and Community Junction.

Nether Fortress RULES[]

1) No claiming areas INSIDE the Ft Impossible Nether Fortress as your private property. Sorry that will not happen here, everybody is welcomed to take what they need and should not fear being called thieves or griefers when they do so. If anybody puts up a sign INSIDE the Fortress that says "Private Area KEEP OUT" however you phrase this, you will be asked to take it down or that sign will be taken down. You are of course allowed to build a private cobblestone house OUTSIDE the Fortress as per Minecraft rules and make an entry way for your safety to the inside but you CANNOT claim any area INSIDE the Fortress.

2) No destroying the Spawners. Period. I don't care if there are extras, don't destroy them.

3) Replant the Nether Warts that are INSIDE the Fortress. If you want to expand the Nether Wart Patches to make a Public Nether Wart Farm for everybody, go for it. It's welcomed, but replant those Nether Warts beside those stairs.

4) If you build a Nether Portal INSIDE the Fortress, put a sign on it saying where it leads to AND if it is for PRIVATE use or PUBLIC use.

5) DO NOT DESTROY the Giant cobblestone 'I' markers placed Outside the Fortress. They stand out for travelers who are lost in the Nether and know they have a place of safety to run too.

6) DO NOT DESTROY the signs. Not only are they carrying the rules of the Fortress but also directions to the Northern and Southern Areas of the Fortress, and the exits, so no one can get lost inside the maze like Fortress.

7) Ft. Impossible Nether Fortress Rules may be added over time and unexpectedly.

Mysterious Oddities[]

Since the early settlers of 'The Swamp', strange and mysterious things occurred throughout the area that still exists in present day Boonton. It is said that early settlers built islands in the sky and pyramids for no reason at all. Other stories that mysterious white lights snatched settlers away, leaving behind unfinished and unsigned builds. One of the recorded sightings of this so-called white light occurred at Destroyox Field, where builders Destroyox and The Cure both vanished from 'The Boondocks' before ever starting their builds.

Even nature has its aura of mystery along the Crescent Coast where trees grant wishes and an island calls out for the moon. Or the Emerald Forest where craters lie and the star that crashed into it rests at Town Hall.

There are still many more mysteries yet to be discovered throughout Boonton as its history of the old settlers continues to be found in the tiniest of areas.

The Serene Empyre Alliance[]

An alliance of the Spawn City suburban Communities of Boonton, Empyrean, and Fort Serenity. This joint group are all connected by roads, rails, and riverways allowing travelers safe passage around the region. Formed when Boonton was originally 'The Boondocks', all three suburban communities have provided each other a healthy long standing relationship, and preparing for the coming of the rumored aliens that snatched Destroyox and The Cure in the middle of the night from their field in Boonton.
